NATIONAL CAPITAL SKIN DISEASE FOUNDATION

The National Capital Skin Disease Foundation (NCSDF) supports research, training, and education in dermatology in the Ottawa region, to promote excellence in clinical care. 

OUR WORK

Through generous donations, the NCSDF has built a new, first-of-its-kind dermatology centre inside the Ottawa Hospital, where they treat everything from skin cancers to psoriasis to dermatitis, and conduct cutting-edge research.

CURRENT INITIATIVES 

The Ottawa region has a shortage of services to treat skin cancer in a timely and appropriate manner.  We are looking to support education, research and clinical services related to skin cancer.  One cornerstone of this would be to expand Mohs Surgery from 3 days a week and only one physician to 5 days a week and 2 physicians.  We will also look to bring new technologies to the Ottawa area to help diagnose and treat skin cancers.
